Duke is a very energetic, fun-loving dog whose favorite past times are car rides, walks on a leash, playing with his favorite toys and spending time with us snuggling in his bed. He has some selective hearing when off leash so a fenced in yard would be best. He is good with other animals. We have one cat, who he basically ignores. He iscompletely housebroken and very good when he is left in the house. We have had him for several months and we feel completely confident leaving him alone in the house uncrated. He has never chewed or ruined anything butoccasionally will try to takefood off the kitchen counter! We do make sure the garbage is in the cabinet so he doesn’t go through it. He loves people who come to our house and will calm down shortly after the excitement wears off. He has been evaluated by our vet and is healthy. He’s up-to-date on his vaccinations. He is microchipped and we apply Advantix II to control fleas and ticks. Duke has always lived with his very best friend in the whole world, Briar, so these boys will need to be adopted together. When they are separated they are visibly upset and will whinefor a short while until they are reunited. They love each other and it would be sad to separate them. Every night they sharetheir dogbed and sleep soundly till morning. If you are intested in adopting both of these sweet boys please fill out our adoption application and note Briar and Duke. Duke and Briar were taken in by a close friend after their owner suddenly passed away but she could not have two dogs in her smallhouse. She contacted ABR to help get them into foster care where they could find a wonderful new home.
