Dottie is a beautiful 3 year old roan girl. More than anything, she loves cuddles and pets from her human friends. Dottie is working on her socialization skills, as she was not exposed to other dogs for most of her life. She has made incredible progress with her foster family, learning that playing with her foster siblings can be so much fun, and that she doesn’t need to be aggressive with other dogs to protect her humans. She is incredibly patient and gentle while playing with the resident 15-week Brittany pup.Dottie unfortunately has anxiety around small children, and should not be in a permanent home with young children. Though she is incredibly sweet and a very quick learner, her previous owner surrendered her because of a new life change where Dottie would be exposed to young children and knew it wouldn’t be a good fit.Dottie’s new owners must understand her temperament and be comfortable using techniques to de-escalate and avoid potential confrontations with other dogs and children.Dottie is a total sweetheart and loves to be a typical silly Brittany, fetching balls and playing with toys. She is motivated well with treats and will do just about anything for a chew toy! She is crate trained and will automatically go to her crate when she knows it’s time for her foster parents to go to work. She needs help learning polite leash etiquette as she is a puller and should use a harness while on a leash.
