Dog Story: Hi, I’m Dexter! ABR saved me and my brother Oliver from a shelter and we are so happy now. I am a handsome French Brittany/Springer Spaniel mix with the most beautiful brown eyes. Oliver and I were found by a very nice lady who had some wonderful birds called chickens. Unfortunately, we didn’t understand that chickens are sacred, and cannot be hunted like pheasant, quail, dove or other birds we used to hunt. So, the lady gave us up. ABR was very nice and took us in with the hope of finding a nice family that would like both of us together. We love each other very much and are never very far apart. My foster mom calls me Happy, because my tail wags all the time and I smile – a lot! I try really hard to be a good boy and follow the rules, but like all young guys sometimes I get confused. I’m really sorry about that so when I make a mistake I run to my crate. But I’m getting used to the rules of my foster home, and I love my foster brothers and sisters. We run and play together and get along really well. I love to get pets, and to be brushed and just get attention, but I’m also happy just to go lay down in my crate and rest. If you love cute Britts and don’t have pet chickens at your house, please give our foster mom a call to learn more about us! Foster Mom here: We believe that Dexter and Oliver may be French Brittany/Springer littermates. Dexter has the coloring of a Springer, but he is small at only 38 pounds. Dexter is very, very sweet. He and Oliver are two of the nicest dogs we have had in foster care in our home, fitting in well with the clan of 5 dogs. They are gentle and calm for such youngsters, but will run like the dickens if there is a noisy squirrel in the trees around our yard. Dexter will bark a bit at people near our yard or coming to our door but will quiet down when told no. Dexter has very good manners and would make a great addition to any home. These pups are easy to care for and a real bonded pair, and if we could find an adoptive family that would welcome home both these sweethearts together we would be very grateful. Both boys are current on vaccinations, microchipped and on heartworm preventive and will be neutered prior to adoption. If you’re interested in twice the love with a stunning pair of bird dog brothers, please submit the online adoption application and mention Dexter-4008 and Oliver-4009! Dexter and Oliver were turned into a local shelter when they were found to be chicken chasers.
