Dog Story: Meet sweet loving Darby who would love to find her forever home soon! Darby is all of 33 lbs, housebroken and gets along well with other dogs, not a digger, or fence jumper or one to bolt the door!! Darby loves to be outside as much as she can. She loves to explore with her nose. We have seen her chase the feral cats so we don’t think a home with cats is advisable. Darby loves her crate as well. We do not close her in at night, but that is where she will prefer to sleep . During the day, while we are at work, we leave the crate door open and she is the perfect angel. No accidents and not a thing destroyed. One of the more endearing things about Darby is that she ‘collects’ stuffed animals! Doesn’t destroy them, but gathers them in her crate or dog bed and then lays with them. It’s like her babies as we think she had a litter prior to being taken to the shelter. Darby is also very submissive. If you scold her, she is down and rolling over. Darby’s does know ‘Sit and Down’ very well and ‘Stay’ for about a minute or two. Darby’s downside? Yes, even this perfect girl has one is that she loves to jump on things.sofa, counters and people. We are working on curbing this and making progress. Once Darby has calmed down, which only takes a minute or two, she is calm and quiet the rest of the day. If you are interested in adopting Darby, please fill the adoption application and mention her name and ID#. Her perfect family will be one that will love on her and make her every bit a part of their lives. Darby is up to date on her vaccines and heartworm negative and on preventative. Darby was found at a local shelter near Dallas. We don’t know a whole lot about her other then her milk sacks were full and so we know she had pups at some point. What happened to them? We will never know. But we feel strongly that is why she gathers all the stuffed animals to her bed and keeps them there.
