Dog Story: Dakota was attacked by another dog at the dog park when she was 1 and since then has exhibited fear aggression towards other dogs. Three years later she is still the most obedient and sweet dog. She has never showed any aggression or fear towards a human. She is great off leash and on. She will play fetch all day long. Loves to swim, hike, and hunt. Dakota is being rehomed because her human mom is expecting and Dakota is so anxious over the arrival she cannot be calm. They feel it is in her best interest to be in a home where she is able to be the only baby. She was professionally trained to hunt pheasant, chucker, and quail. She loves to cuddle if you give in and let her up on the couch, she is crate trained however she sleeps on a dog bed on the floor near our bed. She would be the most perfect dog for someone not looking to have a multiple dog household, she is great with kids 4 yrs or older. Hopefully we can find her a home to someone who enjoys the outdoors as much as we do or enjoys throwing a ball. She would rather play catch with a ball than have the tastiest treat in the world. She understands a broad spectrum of commands including whoa (don’t move), down, hup (change direction or look at you for command), here, sit, lay, go lay down, go pottie, kennel, load up, shake, etc. Dakota was born into ABR care when her Brittany mother was surrendered. She was one of 8 puppies born to rescue on May 23, 2011. The sire of the litter is a German Shorthaired Pointer. She was adopted at 8 weeks old and has had only one family.
