Choco is a small boy from Spain. The U.S. Midwest winter is a bit of a challenge for him, but thanks to foster mom, he is enjoying his warm extra coat. He enjoys exploring snow covered ground and these wonderful smelly snow banks. He is crate-trained and happily sleeps in an open crate at night time. However, he is not fond of being crated when left alone. He is a dog that will benefit from a canine companion. While he is very gentle, lively, he was not used to a gentle hand in his life. He does enjoy cuddling, but needs to have someone who sits on the floor with him. He really likes affection but it’s taken a while to understand that a hand touching him was a good thing. He has also has become bi-lingual and does understand cheering, laughing, and a lot of commands. Choco is excellent on a leash, loves chasing the ball, but loves sniffing out critters and birds even more. Our boy is not a fan of loud noises, he has heard shots and wants to run back home. He really needs a nice fenced yard where he can enjoy the outdoors. Little man needs to be included in an active family’s daily life. He will not do well left crated for hours.
