Sweet Chief is an 11.5 year old guy with a lifetime of stories to tell! Chief grew up on a large farm in middle Georgia where he was able to roam free with his two Lab fur-siblings. One day, the family moved and Chief saw that the new ‘farm’ was much smaller. After spending much of his life spent roaming in the fields, he suddenly found himself in a much smaller outdoor kennel and wasn’t too happy about it!Now that Chief is in his retirement years, he is relaxing as much as he can. After working so many years on the farm, we believe he deserves the rest and relaxation! He is a very gentle boy and loves to be by your side. Although Chief is deaf, he is still pretty sharp! We are working on learning basic hand commands and is doing really well! Sweet Chief is past the days where he played with toys. He has slowed down in retirement he doesn’t run, we call it more like a gallop! He now knows how to use a dog door to go outside, but unlike his past, he doesn’t spend too much time out there. In fact, he has found that he prefers to be anywhere his humans are.Chief would love to find his forever family! He would love to be with someone who understands and appreciates retirement, and would be willing to be with him most, if not all of the time. Maybe someone he could share stories with! His old man bones can only handle a few stairs and we can totally understand. Even though he may not spend too much time outside, he would love to have a fenced in yard. In the end, Sweet Chief is just so happy to be with his humans!
