Wanna hear a really good heartwarming story? Boy oh boy… do I have one for you!
Earlier this year, a really nice man was doing some work at someone’s home in North Georgia. As he was walking back to his truck, he spotted me hiding under a porch, tied to a post. He squatted down and spoke really softly to me, but I didn’t come to him. He looked kinda sad, then continued his work. At the end of the day, he asked the homeowner about me. Without hesitation, he handed the nice man the tie-out, and the nice man carried me to the truck. We rode home, and he took me inside – somewhere I had never been! I’ll be honest, it was weird, and I was WAY more comfortable being outside. So that nice man created a secured area, gave me shelter, and a warming lamp – but knew that I needed more than what he could give.
One day, he made a phone call that would change my life FOREVER! The very next thing I knew – I was swooped up into the arms of an ABR angel! She took me to the pokey place and just kept saying how skinny I was. The pokey people did the pokey people things, ran a bunch of tests, and removed a really big bladder stone. Next thing I know… I’m in what they call a Foster Home! Here at this Foster Home, I have really come out of my shell and learned so many things. I’m still learning, but my foster mom has been so patient with me! I have learned to trust, and to love.
Here’s what my day to day life looks like: I sleep in my crate sometimes, but I really love to take a naparoni and cheese on any comfy place! I patrol the fence to watch the animals that are on the other side, testing the fence of course! I play with other dogs, but because I’m new to this, I don’t exactly know when it’s time to stop. My foster mama makes me take a break, and that’s okay. Give me a stuffy toy, and I take it as a challenge to get the stuffing out as fast as possible! I can be a little willy nilly – but I’m only 4! Sometimes, we go on a walk. I wear a harness because I’m strong! But when It’s all said and done, I love to lay beside my human and relax.
My foster mama feeds me special urinary food, and says that I’ll need to be on it for the rest of my life. Sometimes, my bladder is a little leaky, but I PROMISE I’m potty trained! Ugh – It’s so embarrassing, but any human needs to know that ahead of time. I’m hoping to find an active family that will love me, be patient with me, and include me in the family!
