Dog Story: Canela is a darling doll who recently arrived at her ABR foster home in Florida. Her name means cinnamon in Spanish which is most appropriate for a sweet orange and white puppy! Canela is an adorable 11 month old Brittany mix with a long tail that is always wagging. Like all Britt pups Canela is a very high-energy girl and loves to go for walks and runs, playdates at the dog park, chasing lizards, fetching toys and chewing on refreshing ice cubes! Canela can play chase and wrestle for hours with her Britt foster siblings, run at top speed with her long legs prancing and then snooze on the bed for naptime cuddling with the humans. Canela is very friendly, affectionate and eager to learn new things. She is housetrained and crate trained, happily sleeping safe and sound in her crate for nighttime and when the family is out. Canela knows some basic commands like sit, stay and lay down. The typical youngster behaviors like chewing and learning not to jump up are natural for any pup, and will be fun for her new family to continue working on together with a basic obedience class as she matures. Canela is a social butterfly who loves to play with other dogs and gets along well with children, although her bouncy nature may be best with children over small toddler age. She has some anxiety on car rides (panting and drooling) which we are working on with short pleasurable trips in the car to puppy playgroup. Canela weighs a healthy 36 pounds and is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventive and microchipped. Cinnamon Girl Canela has tons of Britt energy and is looking for a home where she can spend lots of time with her people for regular daily exercise, outdoor activities and all the one-on-one attention that a bird dog pup requires. Potential adopters should be willing to travel to the Orlando, FL area to meet Canela and bring her home; we will not fly or transport Canela due to her young age and minimizing transfer stress.
