Adopted!!!
Hi
everyone Meet Cali!
Cali
is a petite young pup (estimate 1 year old, 19 lbs) up to date on her heartworm
and flea and tick meds. She’s spayed.
Cali
came to us a scared little thing from Serbia but quickly adapted and thrived
with us. Don’t let her size fool you! Big things come in small packages and
that describes Cali’s personality in a nutshell.
She’s
smart as a whip but we’re still trying to build her confidence up. When she
first came to us, she would not walk on a leash and was not house-trained.
She’s now doing well on the leash but still has insecurities about going to the
bathroom on leash. Needless to say, we still occasionally have accidents in the
house but she’s coming along slowly but surely. Every small progress is a
victory with this little lady. She responds proudly to her good girl praise and
is eager to please.
Cali
is currently being fostered in a home with another Brittany (Molly is 3) as
well as two small children ages newborn (3 months) and an active toddler 2.5
years. She has adapted AMAZINGLY. She is very good with both the other dog
and the kids.
We
don’t know her history but it seems like she might have a been a street dog.
She can be a little guarded about her food but not aggressive. She will growl
from time to time about food or possession of a toy but will share her food
bowl with our other dog (begrudgingly and a little vocal) but without
issue.
We’ve
made significant progress in training with Cali but she still has a little bit
to go. Especially with the housebreaking. With a little patience and TLC
going forward, she’s well on her way to living her BEST life. She is an
absolute love bug so be prepared to have your heart stolen.Cali would do best in a home with another dog as she enjoys the canine companionship and must have a secure physically fenced yard.
