Dog Story: Caizel is a two-year old from the International Rescue program. Despite his unclear beginnings in Spain, Caizel is a playful and trusting boy who instantly warmed up to our family and our two Britts. He is house and crate trained, walks well on a leash (working daily on his leash manners), and has a sweet and ‘eager to please’ personality. While he is not aggressive towards people or other dogs, he does have an active prey drive and is happy spending the day chasing squirrels and birds in the yard (although we’ve never seen him even get close to catching one). He comes when called, but would probably do best with a secure, fenced yard. He is well socialized to people and other dogs (he loves the dog park), but we have not seen him interact with cats. He loves toys and is great at fetch, but he is working on telling the difference between toys and shoes. Caizel loves to run and play, but he is also happy snuggled on a lap, or on his pillow on the floor. And walks. He loves walks. He quickly learned to use our dog door, and is even learning to recognize when is it closed (Bonk!). He will follow you around the house all day and just wants to be with his people. We have left him in the house and the yard with our other two dogs, and he has done fine. He hardly ever barks, rides well in the car, and generally stays out of trouble. We have really fallen in love with Sir Caizel and can’t wait to see him in a loving, forever home. If Caizel sounds like the perfect addition to your family please fill out the online adoption application and mention Caizel! Dog History: Caizel was part of the international rescue program.
