Cabella is a very sweet Brittany. She is generally quiet, shy and very smart. Cabella rides very well in the car, has begun to settle on the sofa with her foster dad for affection. She is learning human touch is not a terrible thing. Daily walking on a leash for the pack walk has improved greatly. Slipping her collar is a skill she perfected when she was in the puppy mill, so even a Martingale style collar requires double leashing for her safety. Cabella can go up and down stairs, go in and out the door to the yard and allows petting for a minute, without moving away. She sleeps in a large crate at night with blankets to fluff and snuggle in. During the day she is free to explore the house, with supervision for her safety. Cabella has no experience with toys or bones and does not yet show interest in them yet. She gets along well with the other dogs in the house and visiting dogs. When human visitors come in, Cabella may bark briefly and retreat to her chosen safe corner. She has begun to show more courage and curiosity about new people and may go sniff them briefly. No food aggression has been observed at all and she does not gulp her food. Grooming is a new experience for Cabella that she is tolerating well. Patience and consistency will help Cabella continue to move forward toward the confident and social Brittany she will become. Cabella needs a home with a physically fenced yard and would benefit from having a home that has Brittany experience. If you are interested in Cabella and would like to be her forever home be sure to fill out the adoption application Cabella is 1 of 38 dogs that were taken from an emergency seizure of a puppy mill in NY. Of the 38 dogs ABR took in 5 Brittanys.Cabella is heartworm negative, up to date on her vaccines and is spayed.
