Adopted!!!
Buster is a very happy, extremely friendly dog. He loves to be a part of family. He is a very social dog who wants to be with people, and will always be following someone around the house. His little stubby tail never stops wagging. He would do better in a house with no small children. He is extremely friendly but very high energy, and might knock small children down trying to give kisses.
Buster has a lot of energy and likes to run around. He likes to be outside so a fenced yard would be great. Like a true Brittany he is a pointer. He will chase every squirrel up a tree and point at them. He also looks up in the trees watching birds and points at them. The family he previously lived with said they hunted with him and was a great field dog.
Buster walks OK on a leash but does tend to pull. He is also good off the leash but if he sees a squirrel he is going to want to chase it. We have been working on his listening skills trying to get him to pay more attention to who is walking him vs. the squirrel. He is getting better but truthfully goes for the squirrel more often than not.
Buster gets along with other dogs and would have no problem living with them. I would not recommend living with cats as I believe he would look at them as something to chase.
Buster likes to be with people and will often bark when you leave the house but usually settles down quickly. He has been good being left alone with the run of the house and is also good being left alone in a more restricted part of the house. I think Buster would make a great addition to any family. He is a healthy, happy, energetic, people-loving dog. He is up to date on vaccinations, has been neutered, microchipped and is heartworm negative currently on preventative. If you think Buster is a good fit for your family complete the online adoption application
:
Buster’s prior family moved and could not take him with them. They contacted their local shelter who referred them to American Brittany Rescue. He is currently living with a foster family in White Plains NY and can be seen there or arrangements can be made to see him in Warrensburg NY.
