Dog Story Bruce is a three-year-old black and white French Brittany from Spain. He came over in July on ABR’s last international trip. While Bruce is his official name on his passport and other paperwork, he doesn’t respond to it.Instead, his foster family calls him ‘Freddy’ (nickname for Ferdinand) to which he readily responds. ‘Freddy’ may be part English setter as he is a bit tall for a Brittany, and has a long intact tail. His ideal weight should be between 50-55 pounds.Right now he is 44 pounds. We’re feeding him heavily to try to get some weight on him.Otherwise, he has tested disease free, and seems to be in perfect health. ‘Freddy’ is house trained and uses the dog door.He is very active and playful, as expected for a three-year-old, but does settle down fairly quickly. He gets along very well with our three Brittanys and two cats, and with all strangers (both two- and four-footed) that he meets on the greenbelt.’Freddy’ loves his walks and most of all loves to hunt squirrel. Dog History Bruce was a rescue from a private shelter in Spain. No other information is none about his background.
