Dog Story: Bogie is just about the coolest dude around and ready to be your best friend and adventure partner! He is a wonderful companion who loves people and dogs, laying in the sun and entertaining himself with a favorite tennis ball! Bogie is a 4 year old Brittany mix with handsome orange and white markings and lots of freckles. Bogie has been his family’s constant partner for outdoor activities and could be a catalog model for canine sports – he hops right in the car to go hiking, jogging, swimming and even kayaking with his own doggy life jacket! Bogie is also a well-mannered guy who can easily relax in the house, nap in the sunshine and join his humans to enjoy strolling a street fair or dining outdoors at restaurants. But most of all Bogie just loves being with his people. Bogie’s family is now working very long hours between their jobs and military duty and Bogie is spending several days a week at home alone. Bogie becomes very anxious and stressed when left alone for long periods and his owners have been doing their best to help his separation anxiety. He is kenneled during work hours or goes to doggy daycare as he will try to dig under the backyard fence attempting to get to his people. Bogie’s owners have worked with their veterinarian trying medications to ease his anxiety, but Bogie is just so lonely and unhappy. The one thing Bogie’s owners unfortunately cannot do is quit their jobs, and they turned to ABR desperate for help in the very difficult decision finding Bogie a new home where he can thrive with more time and attention. Bogie will be a great companion for a family who is home much of the time, looking for a loyal and devoted buddy to enjoy an active lifestyle together, and an all-around best pal to cuddle with. He would probably enjoy having a doggy sibling or two for company as well. Bogie weighs around 50 pounds and is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm and flea/tick preventive. Bogie is currently residing with his owners in the Augusta, GA area and ready to find a new family to share his love with.
