Birdie has ongoing medical issues (laryngeal paralysis) and is a hospice foster. She is on the site twice. Once when she came into rescue originally and again when she was surrendered back to ABR b/c her adopter lost her job and couldn’t pay for surgery for Birdie. 9.8.2020 Birdie was adopted by an ABR volunteer Carolyn Heiserman in June 2019. Birdie (formerly PA 6151) came to Carolyn with an abscess on her back which the vet said was where a chip was inserted. She advised Carolyn to keep it clean and watch it. A growth has formed around it which the vet wants to remove. In the meantime because of COVID, Carolyn has been laid off and cannot afford the surgery. Birdie is coming back to rescue so she can have the surgery. She also has the beginnings of tracheal collapse. Birdie will be staying with Carolyn as a forever foster.
