Hello! My name is Bentley, and I’m a sweet, loving, active, attention-seeking 7 year-old neutered male Brittany. In addition to being pet and cuddling with my owners, my favorite things in the whole world are tennis balls! I could retrieve tennis balls for you for hours on end. I would do best in a home that can give me daily, vigorous exercise and lots of human attention. I’d describe myself as a cuddle-bug and discovered that I love sleeping in his parents’ bedroom (and, shhhhhh, my foster parents even let me sleep in the bed with them and their other dogs). Car rides are another passion of mine, and I love hanging my head out the window and also curling up on the seat and sleeping when we drive long distances. I get along excellently with the two resident dogs and toddler – in fact, I’d do best in a home with a dog. I stay in the yard and respond well to basic commands such as come, sit, stay, shake, and down. I am house broken and crate trained (and stay in my own crate next to my foster parents’ dogs when they are at work), and I love swimming (especially to retrieve tennis balls thrown into water). One of my other things to do is to run beside the bicycle with my foster parents and their 2 dogs. Another one of my finer attributes according to my foster parents is my superb sense of hearing, and I’m getting better at not barking at every little sound and how to ask for attention without whining. But, I definitely let my foster parents know every time the UPS man makes a delivery (hey – it’s my job!) Finally, I’ve never been hunted (although I’ll chase squirrels and rabbits in the backyard and even got a chipmunk the other day – I was so proud) and am scared of loud noises like gunshots and smoke detectors. Foster parents here: Please no sight unseen adoptions for this boy. We feel it is important that all family members (human and canine) meet to assure that we have a good fit. Bentley would do best in a family with another dog(s). If you’re looking for an active dog (despite being 7 years old), who loves human and canine companionship, cuddling, tennis balls, car rides, and being a member of the family, please complete the adoption application Bentley is an owner surrender from a young family that has their hands full with a baby. His energy level was beyond what his original family was able to give him, and he was surrendered to ABR. He is neutered and micro chipped and recently had a full vet checkup including a dental cleaning with a clean bill of health. He is also current on all vaccinations and is on preventative heart worm (Interceptor Plus) and Tick/Flea(Frontline). Please consider making this adorable boy who really is a gem part of your family.
