Belle is a tremendous example of all the wonderful traits of the Brittany breed. She has not had an easy life, and yet remains brave, playful, curious and so very sweet. Belle came to ABR after she was surrender at a shelter by her previous owners who didn’t want her after glaucoma took her vision. Sweet Belle is blind. but she’s very good at fooling people who don’t know it! She gets around just like any other Brittany, butrelies on her nose and mapping memory. It’s true that your other senses are magnified when one doesn’t function. Strangers at the dog park are floored when we tell them she can’t see!Belle suffered from glaucoma and needed both eyes removed. Her recovery has been wonderful with ABR’s help. Initially, all Belle would do was sleep. She was in intense amounts of pain because of the pressure build up from her glaucoma. Any exercise would only make the throbbing worse. After her surgery Belle turned into a whole new dog! She is typical Brittany ball of energy, exploring, playing with toys, and she especially loves going for long walks, runs, or YES even bike rides with the help of a walky-dog or backpack. This girl has a serious desire for adventure! She has manyamazing years ahead of her. Belle loves to be with her people at night and sleeps very peacefully either right next to her foster parents, or on the foot of the bed or a cozy dog bed. She is the ULTIMATE cuddle-Bug. Belle asks that you not judge her by her condition, but by how capable she is. Belle hopes someone can provide her with a life just like any other Britt, giving her adventures of a lifetime and setting the bar high for this awesome pup. There really isn’t anything she can’t do!If you have any questions about Belle’s needs or think you’d be a great forever home for this amazing girl please fill the online adoption application contact her foster Mom Bobbi.
