Dog Story Meet Bella, the foster who has a stolen our hearts! Bella has lived her entire life outside in a pin. She was occasionally allowed in her front yard with an underground fence. She now considers herself a lap dog, loves sleeping in her crate, and follows us everywhere. We have tried to pique her interest with all types of toys and she has begun showing mild interest in stuffed ones. What she loves most is playing with our two dogs. She could play all day long! She would be happiest in a home that already has a dog(s) that she can play with. Bella is very excitable when people enter our home. She submissive smiles and gently ‘corncob’ nibbles to show her affection and sometimes she jumps. Once she has gotten her greetings out of the way she knows to approach and then sit to be pet. We think she would be wonderful with children as long as they understand her nibbles and ‘smiles’ are loving. We were told that Bella has a high prey drive and pheasant hunted with her original family twice. If you wish to hunt with Bella, we think she could excel but will require additional training (or another dog to follow their lead). We were told that she has even killed skunks! Bella was surrendered by her owner whose living situation was not giving her the attention that she needed. They wanted her to go to a home that understands the Brittany breed and can give her the love she deserves. She is in perfect health, up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped, and current on her heartworm/flea/tick preventative.
