Dog Story: Beaumont is a young neutered male approximately 1 year old. ABR was contacted by a high kill shelter with no volunteers nearby. The shelter sent a photo of just his face looking up smiling for the camera, so we were thinking handsome tri-color britt. Then he started his journey from Kentucky to North Carolina, this beautiful face framed by long ears popped up in the backseat and I was in love! Imagine my surprise when the beautiful face was followed by a really thin body that stood up on really long legs. His driver and I looked at one another and said almost at the same time ‘setter’. So, what is a setter doing on our site? The answer is simple; we love dogs and yes our mission is to save brittanys but once we have committed to a dog especially one at risk we follow through in getting them a great new home. If you are reading this page, then you are a dog lover as well and Beaumont just might be the right dog for you. Beaumont is mostly white with an expressive tri-color face. He has a long-plumed tail and beautiful eyes that are truly a window into his sweet soul. He is a puppy in an adult size body and like any young child he still has a lot to learn. He has only been here a few days and although he doesn’t know any basic obedience he has already become a much loved part of the family. Beaumont wants to please so with proper training he should become a super dog! He gets along well with the senior resident brittany male and two younger brittany females including my alpha girl. He likes nylabones and has played with a ball . He hasn’t made any attempts to escape from the yard although with his height he could get over my 4 foot fence if he wanted to do so. Outside he loves to chase the others and bark at suspicious things like squirrels and cats. He hasn’t met a cat close-up so I don’t know how he’d do with one. Inside, he is very quiet. He loves to wrestle with my younger female and take long naps. At night, he sleeps in a crate. He doesn’t go into the crate yet on command and will cry a few minutes but settles down quickly. As noted earlier, he is very thin at just 39 so we are working on getting him to his ideal weight. Loving this dog came easily. I see Beaumont as a sweet tempered, calm, smart, and extremely loving brittany in a slightly bigger body. Beaumont deserves a loving family. He should be fine as an only dog but does enjoy the friendship of his playmates here. If you want a loyal, sweet, companion fill out our online adoption application and come meet Beaumont soon! History; Beaumont landed himself in a high kill shelter in KY so we know nothing of his past. He is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventative.
