Meet Beau! Beau is a 3 year old neutered male. He has been with the rescue for some time now due to severe social anxieties-but wait! Stay with me! His foster mom works in vet med and has been trying all the tricks in her arsenal but Beau still needed more. He has recently been to an amazing board and train program and has learned so much, from basic commands, to brain engaging exercises, to staying calm in situations that once caused him panic in the home and in public. And the best part he will continue to have little “refresher” training days with his trainer, even after his adoption. His trainer is also willing to teach his new family how to work with all Beau has learned. We want to ensure that Beau has all of the support he needs to succeed and find his perfect forever home. 

He is currently training with a “Mini Educator” e-collar and tons of positive reinforcement (he loves treats as well as full body scratches and face smooshes all equally) 

Now for the fun details! Beau is the goofiest, cuddliest, most loving baby with the biggest personality. He loves to be with his person/people. He’s currently living with several cats and a teenager and frequently has playdates with other dogs of all sizes. Small children have scared him in the past, but I do believe with a slow introduction and respectful boundaries and behavior, he will acclimate fine. 

He is kennel trained and will go into it voluntarily while relaxing with the family in his downtime, but may whine or vocalize in the kennel when left home alone. This usually subsides within a few minutes (his foster mom monitors him on an in home camera when he’s alone). 

Beau is currently being socialized in public and will get used to simply hanging out with you calmly when out and about, so if you’re looking for a dog to go on patio lunch dates or to a brewery with you, he may be the boy for you! 

Beau will need to be a local adoption to the Hampton Roads area of Virginia or within a couple hours away. He will also need a 6ft privacy fence or a family willing to be very active with him daily.

**Beau needs a 6 ft Physical fence as he can easily jump over a 5 ft fence.

**Any potential adopter is required to have a meet and greet with Beau, we will not transport!
