Hi, my name is Bailey and I did not come from the best of environments. But all of that has changed now and I have found love and the good life within my foster home. However, it would be wonderful to find my forever home with my own family to love me. The vet thinks that I am between 4-5 years of age and my foster mom says that I am the smartest girl she has ever met. I learn extremely quickly, I don’t chew up anything, I wait by the door when it is my turn to go out, and I love holding down laps and bedcovers. She even tells me that I am an oxymoron – a calm britt as she puts it. My foster brother is not always calm but I am. My foster family lives on a lake and I can tell you that I love going for boat rides and playing in the water. Being outside is a wonderful thing and I am very happy by the campfire or helping rake leaves. Car rides are enjoyable for everyone because I sit right down and love going along. We still use the crate when they leave because although I wasn’t potty trained when I came to their home I am learning quickly but still need the occasional reminder to go outside. So far I have adapted well to a new routine and am not the dominant dog in the house. When a neighbor cat walks by I would be more than happy to get out the door to get to it. However, having not been given the opportunity yet to meet a cat up close and personal we are not sure how I would react. I would do best in a home with a companion or a family where someone is home a good portion of the time. After I was first rescued I had problems with being left alone and would cry if any of my foster family were out of my line of sight. However, now I am comfortable sleeping on the bed or couch during the day and check on them only occasionally. There is not a person I have met that isn’t my friend. I would love to meet you and share the love in my heart with a family who will love me back. Bailey came to our rescue from a neglect situation.
