Ace can be a little shy at first, so we let him “tell” us about himself with a quick word-association game.

WHAT HE SAID 💬

People → love

Dogs → friends

Cats → chase

Toys → squeaky ones

Belly scratches → yes, please

Thunder → scary

Swimming → toes only

Bedtime → snuggle

Walks → F-A-V-O-R-I-T-E

Ace → good boy

Ace’s foster family has a long list of good things to say about him. He doesn’t get into trouble, doesn’t jump, has excellent recall, obeys commands easily, and walks well on a leash. While he is initially a bit shy, he warms up quickly and is consistently friendly with all people and dogs he meets. He does like to stay close to his people, calmly following his foster dad everywhere and snuggling up beside him at night. He appreciates attention and affection, but he doesn’t demand it. In fact, he’s so chill that his foster parents say they barely notice he’s there…until it’s time for his walk and he becomes very talkative. Ace has a moderate energy level and requires his daily exercise but is otherwise a relaxed, easy companion.

Ace needs an active family who is committed to daily walks and appreciates a quiet shadow. He could be an only dog or part of a multi-dog home (he does play a lot with one of his foster dog siblings). Ace is calm on short car rides, but he has shown anxiety on longer trips in the past. He may improve with routine and positive experiences, so families who travel long distances frequently should be willing to help him adjust.

Ace weighs approximately 50 pounds and is healthy, neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives.

If you’re looking for a Brittany who is affectionate, mannerly, responsive, and wonderfully easy, Ace is ready to meet you. 🐾🩷🐾

HISTORY

Ace came into ABR’s care after his family expanded and they could no longer meet his exercise and attention needs. He became a bit down and occasionally got into things, and they wanted him to have a home where he could thrive.
