Rex

Rex is a 7.5 year old male brittany who is looking for his forever home, He was surrendered by his owner for several reasons. He didn’t get along with her SO cats and he because of this, he had been living at a relatives house and she didn’t feel he was getting the attention he deserved and needed. In his best interests, she surrendered him to ABR to find him a new, loving home. He is neutered, up to date on all shots and microchipped. He gets along well with our two dogs and with Annie, our other foster.

He also spent the first 4 years of his life as an outdoor dog, then the last 3 years have been indoors. He does well in either situation but does love to be around his people. We think he was trained to not get on the furniture previously, but he has gotten on ours a few times. Even took a nap on the couch after I left for work. But for the most part, he doesn’t get on the furniture. He does understand basic commands like “no”, “stop”, “come” “eat your own food” and “down”. Rex is very eager to please and listens very well.

Rex is also a bundle of love wiggles. He loves attention and acts very wiggly when he is getting it. He is kennel trained and willingly goes in when he is told to “kennel up”. Of course, that might be in part to the 3 milkbones I put in the kennel, but hard to tell. He has been a little food insecure – he tries to eat everyone else’s food after he has had his. We are working on this and it is getting better.

Rex loves both the squeaky toys and real bones that we have. At times, our living room looks like a toy store exploded in it between Rex and Annie getting toys out.
