Thank you for considering adopting from American Brittany Rescue!
Our goal is to help you find the perfect Brittany companion for your family. We start by getting to know you through our adoption application. Please read the following information carefully before completing the application:
ABR is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status. All of our volunteers are unpaid.
We do not adopt dogs on a first-come, first-served basis. We want to make sure that each dog is placed in the best possible home.
Adoption fees vary from state to state. Please contact the foster of the dog you are interested in or your state coordinator to learn more about adoption fees.
We are looking for homes that will provide our dogs with a permanent, loving home. Please be sure that you are willing and able to provide your new dog with the time, finances, and exercise that they need.
All of our Brittanys are considered household pets first and hunters second. We do not guarantee the ability of any of our Brittanys to hunt.
Please read and understand the Adoption Contract before submitting your application.
Brittanys are high-energy dogs that need plenty of exercise. Please be sure that you have the time, energy, and space to provide your new dog with the exercise they need.
Rescue Brittanys may need 3-6 months to adjust to their new homes. Please read their stories carefully and consider their needs when choosing a dog for your family.
We require a home/dog environment study (home visit) before adopting a dog. This is to ensure that each dog is placed in a home that is a good fit for their lifestyle and personality.
Thank you for your interest in adopting a Brittany in need!
