If you are searching for a high energy, smart Boy, Damascus AKA Massey may be your match. This lovable guy with his handsome face loves to play and run. He is trained to our in ground fencing and has free run of our 5 acres and the swimming pond. One of his favorite activities is chasing dragon flies. He is great about doing check ins every so often. His recall is good. He is really good about counter surfing, although he does walk along the counter sniffing for goodies. He loves to play chase with our Britt boy, and knows not to push our other dog. He is a flight risk, so any family will need a good physical fence or be willing to train to an invisible fence. Massey does need reminders to take treats gently. He sits nicely for meals, but can be a food thief. Right now we are doing “lunchroom” duty to prohibit stealing from other dogs.

On walks, his nose gets the better of him. He is a puller, we are working on that, but he is young and strong. Any family will need to work on that or prepare to have your arm lengthened. He will need consistency and training in this area. Crate training has been a challenge as he hates the crate. He is pretty trustworthy without it.

The prey drive in this boy is strong, so no cats. Because Massey is strong, young and excitable no small children. Again, Massey is a flight risk, so any family will need a good physical fence or be willing to train to an invisible fence. He needs someone who has the time, experience, consistency and patience to enforce his training and leash manners. We will not be transporting Massey. Please no long distance or sight unseen adoptions will be considered. We are requiring a meet and greet (canines and humans) to assure we have a good match.

Damascus is an owner surrender to rescue due to divorce. His owner was working long hours and living in an apartment. Long hours left alone were not good for this high octane boy. Massey is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, HW tested negative, on preventative and micro chipped.
