Adopted!
Otis is an owner assisted placement. That means ABR takes applicants through the approval process. Once they are approved, the information is sent to Otis’s family who will make the decision on his placement.
This is the information his family has shared with ABR: We rescued Otis from a difficult home situation about three years ago. His previous owners did not hunt with him or care for him particularly well. They got rid of him because they got a new puppy. We took Otis in and tried our best to give him a stable and loving home.
Unfortunately, despite our efforts, he has not blended well with our family or our other dogs. He is not aggressive with other dogs, but he is definitely not the best fit within our household dynamic. We truly want what is best for him and believe he may thrive better in a different environment.
Otis is overall in very good health. He is food motivated, will do anything to please you and be a good boy. He is crated when unattended. He walks well on a leash with someone who is experienced. He know some commands and has hunted. He has no experience with children.
Otis loves chewing soup bones, looking out windows, car rides, treats, sitting on the porch on sunny days, sun bathing and watching birds. He has a funny sneezy smile when he does something naughty. Otis needs a home that is patient and understanding of his quirks. He loves people and just wants to be loved and cared for.
