Adopted!!!
Hi….I’m Rusty! Are you looking for a loyal companion who
loves to play fetch? Then look no
farther folks, cuz here I am!I’m almost 5 yrs old
(will be 5 on the 3rd of June) love scouring the yard for hours
looking for birds (I think I might enjoy being out in the field, once trained of
course). Love toys that squeak! Right now I have a squeaky ball and it is by
far MY FAVORITE of all the toys here. I
live with other dogs and at first I didn’t know how to interact with them, but
within a few days, I figured it all out and soon we were buddies running around
the yard and playing with each other.I’m housebroken and am
learning how to “ask” to go outside. You
see, before these wonderful ladies took me in, I lived outside 24/7. Never had to ask for anything, it was all
right there….well love and attention….I did have to ask for that.Did I tell you I have
a strong prey drive? Oh yeah, I have a
STRONG prey drive. My foster home has
cats and all I can say is…..when I see them, I do not hear or see anything
else. I’m so focused and it scares my
foster mom. She has said plenty of times….NO
home with CATS for you Rusty!I am crate trained and
will sleep at night in the crate, but I would MUCH rather be closer to you if
it could work out? Right now my favorite
place is to lay on is a soft rug they have.Rusty’s mom here……Rusty
is an extremely sweet boy who does need to gain some weight (he goes non-stop)
has a very high prey drive towards my cats and loves his toys and attention. Rusty
will fetch for as long as you throw the ball to him. Rusty finds joy in everything he does and
that is what we want most for him. The
right home for Rusty will be one who will spend time with him and maybe see how
he would do out in the field? A home with other dogs would be fine but cats is
an absolute NO due to that prey drive. We
don’t see any issues with him being with children either as he is just tender and gentle around us.If you are interested in
Rusty, please go to our website and complete theadoption application and mention
his name and ID #. Rusty is up to date on his
vaccines and isheart wormnegative and on preventative.Rusty’s owner passed
away several months ago and a family member was caring for him. His owner had bought him as a pup to train
for hunting, but that never came to be. The family who took him could not provide him what he needed in regards
to attention and exercise and therefore called our rescue.
