Dog Story: My name is Ben and I’ve come all the way from Spain to find my forever home (along with my brother David). I was scared to come out of my crate at first, but now I like to explore the house when it’s just me, my brother and foster mom. I love my walks and tend to walk with purpose. I stay on the sidewalk most of the time, but I’m often on the lookout for birds and other things moving around me. One thing to know about me is that I’m really afraid of men because, . . . well I didn’t have such a good experience with them back in Spain. My foster dad has been super patient with this and I’m getting less afraid of him a bit more each day. I love to run with David in the big fenced yard my foster family has. I’m looking for a forever mom (family) who is willing to be patient, friendly and consistent with me so I can continue to thrive. With a little time and patience I got this! If you are interested in Ben and/or David, please submit an adoption application Ben and David are rescues from Spain. We do not know anything about their background, but both were very scared when they came into rescue and rely on each other for comfort.pda Update 7-13-19 Ben continues to grow and thrive A.k.a. “Big Ben!” Previously he was afraid to eat when anyone moved in the house, but is doing much better eating and has gained appropriate weight. And he’s definitely grown taller. Also, he’s learned to play with all the dogs of the house of (i.e. Ages are 10 1/2 months old, 3 yr. old, and 7 1/2 year old). Ben loves to play early in the morning after breakfast and before the morning walk. Though he can hold his own with the other dogs, Ben is very gentle when playing with the humans which makes him a great candidate for a forever home with small children. His favorite place to play is out in the yard with playing catch with balls, stuffed animal, and rope toys. Please consider opening your hearts and mind to this beautiful, gentle pup he needs you as much as you need him!
