Sweet, snuggly Sophie is looking for her forever home. She was a rescue from Korea that had a rough start to her life. She might have been confined in a small space as a puppy, so she hasn’t fully developed the muscles in her hind legs. However, she doesn’t have any trouble running around or playing chase around the tree ring, and her vet says she will continue to improve with time and exercise. Sophie also had a bad pneumonia before coming to the states and it caused some damage to her lungs. She has fully recovered and can play and run around with her foster friend, but don’t expect her to be your jogging buddy or lake dog. Sophie the sofa dog, loves to be close to her human family and will snuggle up on the couch for a belly rub or a nap. She is a puppy at heart and loves to play with toys and chew on bones. She will carry around your slippers or socks but is learning quickly that carrying her stuffed rabbit or ice cream cone is much more appreciated by her family. She has only been with her foster family for a month but considering she had to learn English before she learned commands she has learned quickly. She knows sit, stay, and down. She knows how to get in her kennel when it’s time to go to work and she doesn’t make a peep while she’s crated or home alone. Sophie loves people and kids too. She enjoyed the silly humans dressed up for Halloween and greeted them all with a wagging tail. She would love to be part of a family and would even be happy to dress up for Halloween next year too. She already proudly wears her Chiefs football jersey on game days. If you are interested in learning more about Sophie please fill out the online adoption applicationand mention Sophie. She is anxious to find her perfect forever home. Sophie is part of ABR’s international rescue effort.
