Dog Story: It’s difficult not to fall in love-at-first-sight when meeting Colt! He’s a typical Brittany puppy of 9 months playful, energetic and very loving a sweetheart that will make a great companion in a forever home. Having spent a lot of time outdoors when with his previoius owner, there are many new sights and sounds for him to take in when indoors and it’s fun to watch him experience them. While staying with us, he has mastered going up and down steps. When not snooping around to satisfy his curiosity, playing with you or following you around, he’ll sometimes busy himself for an hour or more chewing on a large, real bone he loves them! Colt is partially housebroken you’ll need to be alert to his needs and a major key tosuccess will be establishing a means for him to communicate to you when he has to go ‘potty’. While in our home, we’ve been teaching him to ring a chime at our back door. He’s been sleeping in a crate at night(and won’t soil his quarters), but while our home is still new to him he likesme to sit with him until he settles down to sleep. We’ve been working on teaching him manners, which you will need to continue. He hasn’t shown any signs of aggression towards people or other dogs. If fact, he seems to loveeverybody and everything! Colt has all of his puppy shots, has been neutered, and is on heartworm prevention medication. He is a bit underweight, but has been eating well while here and should gain weight quickly with an adequate diet. He’ll need a fenced yard or containment system so that he can be active outdoors. Colt was returned to the breeder by his family. The breeder could not keep him so he contacted ABR to help.
