Dog Story: Duke is a handsome, lovable and energetic young Brittany boy with a beautiful orange and white coat includinglots of ticking and freckles. He has a very friendly, outgoing disposition and gets along great with his two Brittany foster brothers. Having lived in an outdoor dog run for most of his life, Duke is now learning how to be a good indoor companion as well asthe joys of getting lots of love and affection, a yard to explore, and toys to play with! He has been trained in basic obedience and is excellent walking on leash. He knows sit, heel, stopand stay and we are working on reinforcing what he has already learned.Duke is a big and tall Brittany but a true gentle giant. He is a few pounds overweight from lack of exercise but when he slims down, he is going to be a star athlete! Duke is enjoying life as a family pet and is going to be a fantastic companion. Being inside a house seemed to be a very new and quite thrilling experience; it was hard for him to settle down at first because of all the new things to do! Despite living outdoors his whole life, Duke is quickly adapting to our household routine of exercise, feeding, and playtime. Duke loves running in the yard with his foster brothers, carrying around his toys, going for walks, and then settling down for a nap in his crate. Steady routines and regular exercise will contribute to his well-being as will patient and loving companionship. Duke will reward you many times over with his devotion – he just loves being with his people! He will make a great family dog and will do very well in an active household where he can get the attention and love he deserves. If you’re interested in being considered asDuke’s forever family, please complete the online adoption application and mention Duke-2854. Duke was purchased as a puppy by his previous owners. They didn’t have time for a young Brittany and kept him kenneled outdoors. They wanted Duke to have a better life and he was surrendered to ABR foster care.
