Dog Story:
Woody, also affectionately called The Woodster, is an exuberant, playful and loving mostly-Brittany puppy. Woody is being mentored by his big foster sister Sammy. Sammy has taught Woody how to sit at attention to get a treat (Oh–it’s so hard to be patient!), walk the perimeter fence to look for anything unusual, chase squirrels up the trees, and keep a sharp eye on the backyard from the deck. And Woody has reminded Sammy what it’s like to be a puppy again: doggy wrestling, chasing the Kong, hide and seek around the kitchen island and napping with a buddy.
Woody has pretty good manners for a puppy. He sits on command, usually comes when he is called, and so far has never barked, but he does have a terrible time containing his enthusiasm when visitors come to the house. He just loves everyone! He is doing very well with his house training. He has access to a doggy door during the day and goes in and out as necessary, and during the night he sticks his nose in my face to wake me up if he needs to go.
Woody very quickly adapted from being a stray to shelter dog to loving (and loved) family pet Woody is a beautiful, intelligent and affectionate puppy looking for a loving family who will help him reach his potential. He is our first foster dog and it is going to be difficult to see him go, so if you are interested in adopting Woody we will want to meet you. We want to be sure that you will give him the love and attention he deserves. If you are interested in Woody, please complete the adoption application
Woody was picked up by the animal control officer at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He had been found running loose without a collar in one of the residential areas.Woody tested negative for heart worm and is on heart worm preventive. He is current with his vaccinations and has been neutered.
