Lost And Found Brittanys
(Lost 6 Months+)

Searching for a missing pet can be a terrifying experience. Sometimes, even in the best of homes, your beloved companion may manage to escape an enclosed area or wander too far during a hunt. If you're an animal lover and if this has ever happened to you, you know that the hours, days, and weeks that follow can be a living nightmare.

We hope this page will help reunite missing Brittanys with their owners. If you've lost or found a Brittany and would like the information posted here, please send e-mail and photos to lostfound@americanbrittanyrescue.org with the location, circumstances, and dog's description.

American Brittany Rescue has local State Coordinators who coordinate most ABR activities in their states, including acceptance of dogs into ABR foster care. If you found a Brittany and you would like to discuss transferring the dog to ABR foster care, your ABR State Coordinator may be able to assist.

My Britt, Rosco, has been missing since Dec. 14, 2013. He disappeared suddenly without a trace from our home east of Pittsburg, IL near Paulton Rd.

Rosco is very friendly, 4 yrs old and unaltered weighed about 45-50 lb.

He was wearing an orange collar when he went missing. He’s a country dog loves trucks and tractors. He is not a hunting dog, has never been hunting and he does not like gunfire.

He is our beloved pet and we are heartsick without him. ANY information is greatly appreciated.

My phone number is 618-579-3982, call anytime.

May God Bless You and Our Britt.

Update 3/22/14 -

2 separate people have contacted us saying they may have seen him in the Lower Rattlesnake neighborhood in Missoula, MT, in Greenough Park and on Lolo Street.

Please notify Carin or Brian if you see Kestrel!  Let's get Kestrel home soon!

Posted 2/2/14

We lost our Brittany, Kestrel, a couple weeks ago while hiking just outside Missoula.

He's a neutered male, just shy of 2 years old.  He is extremely energetic and fairly well-trained.  He is usually very friendly, but on the sensitive side.

When we lost him, he was wearing a brown-striped martingale collar and an e-collar.  He is not trained for hunting.

We've been all over the area he was lost in with a big group of people and a tracking dog and are starting to suspect that he may be with someone now so I'm trying to reach out to all the people I can think of that might come across him.

We are in Missoula, MT.  My husband's name is Brian.  We can be contacted at 406-721-1467 or 406-552-2565.  My email is carin.williams@gmail.com.  Kestrel was last seen on Marshall Canyon Rd in East Missoula.

Our only lead so far is that a friend thought he saw him in a gray Nissan Pathfinder at the Safeway on Broadway St. in Missoula.

Thank you for any help you can give us,

Carin & Brian Williams

Lucy is my 3 yr old female Brittany Spaniel. She is orange and white with lots of color and freckles. She was last seen, April 2, 2012, at home on 13 acres on the southeast side of San Angelo, Tx. I work at home so I was here with her and my other dogs when she was taken from my yard.

She is my BEST FRIEND and my baby so if you or anyone you know that might have any information on her whereabouts.

REWARD! no questions asked. I have done about everything possible to search for her.

Brittanys usually live 12-15 years, so if you are contemplating adoption, please be prepared to make that kind of commitment to the dog. Brittanys love their people and require personal attention every day.

Dogs placed by American Brittany Rescue, Inc. have been rescued from a shelter, found as a stray, or given up by an owner who could no longer keep or care for them. All dogs in foster homes have been (or will be) spayed or neutered, checked for heartworm, and are usually on preventative medication for heartworm. A dog's foster family can give you valuable information about its personality and temperament.

There are many more Brittany's available but not yet listed on the web site. These pages are always changing as homes are found and new dogs are placed into rescue. Please contact the State Coordinator for more information.

If you know of a Brittany who needs a home, please contact your nearest State Coordinator for assistance.
